For the sixth consecutive year, Infovista's application performance guarantee solution, Ipanema, has been recognized as Visionary in Gartner's annual Magic Quadrant for WAN Optimization. This report positions network and application performance tools to identify efficient and effective solutions. As has been the case for more than half a decade, Ipanema has been recognized as a Visionary solution since its first inclusion in the report six years ago.

Ipanema stands out from other application performance tools because of the wide range of functionality that it offers users within a single, centrally-managed system. This allows IT teams and operators using Ipanema to effectively manage numerous complex application flows including unified communication and collaboration (UCC), Microsoft Office 365, and other cloud-based SaaS applications from a single pane of glass. This high level of network visibility empowers operators to more efficiently optimize application performance to ensure quality end user experience (UX), which ultimately improves overall business performance.

As Network Demands Evolve, So Does Ipanema

A defining characteristic of Ipanema is that the solution is continually being updated and optimized to meet growing demand for improved UX on business-critical apps. Since 2010, the need to support the management of both MPLS and Direct Internet traffic to enable UCC flows has become imperative to prevent application downtime that could threaten overall business performance. Ipanema has met these challenges accordingly to offer IT teams a solution that allows them to best-fit traffic flows without the need for additional devices or firewalls.

Ipanema has also been outfitted with a new virtual engines portfolio that allows enterprises to future-proof their networks. This helps enterprises fuel the adoption of software-defined networking and network functions virtualization that businesses across industries will inevitably need to explore. This solution allows operators to upgrade networks and implement digitization efforts without interrupting the availability of business-critical applications at any stage.

Application Management Solutions Allow Enterprises to Meet Their Potential

Along with those noteworthy improvements to the efficiency and functionality of Ipanema over the past few years, the solution also boasts dynamic per-flow or per-packet control, WAN path selection and link load balancing, as well as firewall, IPsec and WAN optimization. These updates support enterprise's migration of applications to the cloud to maximize the user experience, while reducing downtime, to accelerate their digital business transformation.

Business applications like Microsoft Office 365 and Skype for Business are now critical components of modern enterprise workflows. A recent report from BT found that 79 percent of organizations suffer application performance problems that are likely hindering overall enterprise productivity. With so much at stake for businesses, a solution like Ipanema is just as critical as the applications it helps to power in ensuring employees are meeting their performance benchmarks.

Learn more about Ipanema's recent momentum and how it was recently named a finalist in the “Innovations in Network Technology category for the 2016 Pipeline Innovation Awards.
