Ultraportable network testing solution for indoor and outdoor

Wireless operators need to collect data from their networks to test and measure coverage and quality. However, it isn’t always practical to obtain network information with drive-test solutions, particularly with more than half of today’s estimated data traffic and calls generated from indoor environments.

TEMS Pocket is a phone-based test tool developed for measuring the performance and quality parameters of wireless networks. The tool collects measurement and event data for immediate monitoring or for processing by TEMS Discovery or other tools at a later time.

Uniquely, it now includes enhanced indoor positioning capabilities, which dramatically simplify data collection. It resolves location positioning from the TEMS Pocket device, which replaces legacy pinpointing techniques. It offers greater accuracy and enables teams to simply get started and go, removing the dependency on external signaling.

    The recent TEMS Pocket release added support for Sony Xperia XZ Premium, an LTE Cat. 16 device with VoLTE support, and increased its presentation capabilities of 4x4 MIMO with options to view the information either in a line chart format or in a bar format.

    Workflow application for Single Site Verification

    Significantly reduce testing costs from doing integration-level testing with the new workflow application, VeriSite, now available as a stand-alone license option. Since this app does not require an engineer to perform either stationary or mobile tests on site, the simple step-by-step workflow can enable a non-technical person to perform all the necessary tests quickly and easily.

    You can also configure test workflows manually on the device or download workorders from TEMS™ FleetManager. When the testing is completed, the person on site will get an instant report to be able to visually confirm test results and the logfiles can be uploaded to a server.

    Obtain a quick summary of your test results with Instant reports

    This new feature enables a real/near real-time reporting capability after tests have been completed. In addition, the feature also supports the generation of PDF reports and their display on your device, giving testers an immediate summary of results. In turn, this allows testers to determine if all necessary data has been collected, creating an opportunity to rerun tests, if required.

    Report generation can be triggered automatically through scripts. Reports can also be uploaded directly to servers, for further analysis and review.

    Begin your measurements from a common starting point and reduce the risk of device related disruptions during unattended/autonomous benchmarking. The Watchdog application from TEMS™ lets you schedule recurrent device reboot times that can be set either locally or from TEMS™ FleetManager.

    Prepare your work orders in TEMS FleetManager and specify the desired reboot time(s). Scheduled reboot times will be synchronized to the devices together with the other parts of the work order. During the benchmarking exercise, the Watchdog application will reboot the devices at the predetermined time(s) to ensure the quality, and keep your devices refreshed.

    Introducing Indoor Positioning Solution

    TEMS Pocket now comes with a unique indoor positioning feature that makes data collection even easier. With this feature, location resolution is handled directly by the TEMS Pocket device and replaces legacy pinpointing techniques. It means that users can simply set up the device and go, focusing on monitoring test progress instead of tracking waypoints on the screen.

    Unlike other solutions that depend on external signaling to determine location, the indoor positioning feature means that TEMS Pocket is fully self-contained. It considerably improves efficiency, by 50% or more depending on the complexity of the floorplan, as well as accuracy, delivering more powerful results. It can even be used to position multiple devices, simply by switching to “controller / agent” mode.
