InfoVista Extension Module for Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM Accelerates Time to Market for Service Providers
Paris, France and Herndon, VA (United States), May 22, 2007 – Infovista, the global leader of IP and RF planning, assurance and optimization software solutions, announced today it has obtained status for Alcatel-Lucent’s Connected+ Partner Program to maintain compatibility between the Alcatel-Lucent 5620 Service Aware Manager (SAM) and Infovista’s VistaInsight for Networks. Infovista’s new extension module for the Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM 5.0 is a pre-built integration which will enable service providers to accelerate time to market for the delivery of new carrier Ethernet and IP-based VPN business services, residential triple play and expedite the migration to next generation networks.
The Alcatel-Lucent Connected Partner Program enables OSS partners to streamline the interoperability of OSS applications with Alcatel-Lucent equipment. Infovista is one of only a very few vendors to reach Connected+ Partner status — the top tier of the Connected Partner Program, designed for OSS applications that are critical to a service providers’ operations.
“The Connected+ Partner category is designed to proactively maintain interoperability between the Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM and third party OSS applications that are critical to our service providers’ operations,” said Basil Alwan, president of Alcatel-Lucent’s IP activities. “These OSS applications must continue to execute flawlessly, after the Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM and the network are upgraded to leverage our latest features. By closing the time gap between OSS applications and management interoperability, we ensure our customers have the most up-to-date management portfolio in place in record low deployment time.”
InfoVista’s latest integration module provides a sophisticated, out-of-the-box network performance monitoring and service assurance solution suitable for large heterogeneous networks while fully leveraging the capabilities of Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM 5.0, the latest version of its industry-leading management application.
“InfoVista’s pre-integrated Alcatel-Lucent certified solution for the 5620 SAM will streamline our ability to offer service reports to our customers. A single integration point like this helps centralize our reporting infrastructure,” said Simon Farrell, IT Architect, Cable & Wireless.
“The lag between the availability of OSS applications and the interoperability with network equipment vendors’ management functionality can be a real issue for service providers as any delay can have a significant impact on time to new revenue generation,” said Ronnie Ray, vice president strategic projects and corporate marketing, Infovista. “The fact that Infovista’s solutions are pre-certified with the very latest version of Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM significantly reduces deployment time enabling our joint customers to get a return on their network investment almost immediately.”
Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM is an open and modular suite of carrier grade management applications for managing Internet protocol (IP), Ethernet and multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) based data networking services delivered by Alcatel-Lucent’s 7750 Service Router, 7710 Service Router and 7450 Ethernet Service Router. Infovista’s performance management and network monitoring software accelerates service provisioning and assurance of Carrier Ethernet and IP-based VPN services and simplifies the introduction of business and residential services, from creation and provisioning to activation, capacity planning, service level problem detection, troubleshooting and customer SLA reporting.
