At MWC 22, Infovista is showcasing Smart CAPEX. Let’s meet with Muhannad Alabweh to understand how operators can deploy and scale a 5G network infrastructure that delivers maximum ROI.

1. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

I am Global Solution Engineering VP at Infovista with 15 Years of Management and Consultative Selling experience in the Telcom Industry. I've had the chance to travel across more than 70 countries as a technology Solution Engineering leader. Committed to delivering high performance in the execution of sales growth strategies and new market penetration, I also enjoy building and developing talents and creating solutions that ensure the delivery of exceptional user experience over critical complex mobile networks.

2. In a few words, how would you describe Smart CAPEX?

Smart CAPEX is an AI/ML-based network planning, and modeling solution that enables operators to deploy mobile networks with the highest revenue potential. It enables CSPs to accelerate and increase the ROI of their 5G network roll-out, expansion and densification by intelligently calculating and optimizing the predicted business outcomes – including revenue, churn and quality of experience.

It enables an operator’s CTO and CMO teams to develop a holistic business case for network investment based on a common expectation and understanding of how it will drive revenue growth, from within a single application. This enables, for the first time, a shift in focus in network planning, from network KPI optimization to business outcomes optimization, by combining diverse network and business predictions within a single vendor-neutral software application.

3. What are the main 5G challenges that Smart CAPEX helps to deal with?

Mobile operators are facing exponential growth in traffic. They are investing heavily in 5G to support the delivery of new, lucrative service categories. Linking the evolution of their radio infrastructure with the key business objectives is a must. Operators want to ensure they can capture most of the revenue while controlling their cost. But legacy processes and ways of working make it difficult for CTO and CMO teams to work as one to effectively and efficiently plan, optimize and model different network evolution scenarios.

Solving this is critical to helping operators make business outcome-led decisions that will deliver 5G networks with the maximum return on investment.

Designed for enabling both greenfield and brownfield operators to quickly deploy high-performance mobile networks that fully exploit the potential of 5G, Smart CAPEX helps them to make intelligent, data-driven RF investment decisions based on the priorities they set to deliver against key business objectives. Smart CAPEX is a significant step towards giving 5G operators the insight and intelligence they need to make informed network investment decisions that maximize their ROI and make 5G work smarter.

4. Any good tip to share with those who go to MWC in Barcelona?

We are still in Winter in this part of the world. It is usually cold (at least cooler than in Dubai). Don’t forget winter clothes for outdoor: you may need more than a jumper to enjoy some delicious seafood in one the restaurants of Port Olimpic. And, of course, bring light clothes to cope with the indoor heat of Mobile World Congress. In other words, pack your suitcase wisely!
