Carrier Ethernet services are already estimated at US$30 billion globally. Its growth rate is primarily due to its flexibility, cost-effective scale and low cost-per-bit. Carrier Ethernet’s adoption has been bolstered by the combined efforts of Communications Service Providers (CSPs)and equipment vendors within the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF).
