Paris, France, and Herndon, VA – November 17, 2008 InfoVista (Euronext IFV - FR0004031649), the leading provider of proactive service assurance, today announced the release of VistaInsight® for Networks 3.1, an enhanced version of its proven network performance management and reporting solution, VistaInsight® for Networks. VistaInsight for Networks 3.1 extends InfoVista’s capabilities beyond the core network, supporting additional network equipment vendors and providing the foundation for communication service providers and large enterprises to monitor and assure the performance of business, mobile data and broadband services.

“In order for service providers to ensure delivery of high-quality services across converged next-generation networks, it is imperative that they are able to understand performance from the network to the customer across all access networks and service delivery elements,” said Nancee Ruzicka, an analyst from Stratecast, a division of Frost & Sullivan. “With this latest release, InfoVista has expanded its coverage footprint and taken a step closer to end-to-end service management.”

Key enhancements in VistaInsight for Networks 3.1 enable service providers to rapidly identify and resolve problems across a wider variety of technologies and organizational domains, as well as extend SLA monitoring to broadband and mobile services to better meet quality expectations in the residential and mobile home-worker markets. Service providers can also reduce the cost of customer care by offering a self-service portal that empowers their enterprise clients to investigate problems, fine-tune capacity and verify SLA compliance.

The release of VistaInsight for Networks 3.1 coincides with the release of two new market-aligned modules: the InfoVista Mobile Knowledge Pack for the mobile data services market, and the InfoVista Broadband Knowledge Pack for the broadband services market. By offering the knowledge packs as separate but compatible modules to VistaInsight for Networks 3.1, InfoVista helps its customers avoid additional overhead for mobile-specific or broadband-specific capabilities they might not need.

Knowledge Pack Benefits

The InfoVista Mobile Knowledge Pack allows service providers to:
  • Quickly launch and capitalize on the revenue potential of mobile data services
  • Enhance product differentiation by extending much-needed reporting capabilities to customers
  • Improve operational effectiveness and efficiency with rapid investigation of service problems across service and infrastructure layers
  • Ensure the quality of high-value mobile services by monitoring service performance in terms of quality metrics like latency, jitter and packet loss

The InfoVista Broadband Knowledge Pack enables service providers to:
  • Avoid end-user dissatisfaction by quickly resolving problems that affect services across the broadband access domain and linked network environment
  • Reduce end-user frustration associated with access issues by providing consolidated user authentication and authorization verification
  • Improve time-to-market for revenue-generating broadband offerings, such as triple-play services, and more

“InfoVista’s support of additional network equipment in version 3.1, complemented by the two knowledge packs, has allowed us to extend the scope of our service assurance coverage along the all-IP and Carrier Ethernet infrastructures to include mobile and broadband network domains,” said Vikas Trehan, VP of product management and product marketing at InfoVista. “In an industry where end-to-end service management is a must, this release provides holistic visibility across diverse network infrastructures, enabling service providers to reduce the time it takes to troubleshoot, resolve and repair problems, ensure quality new services, and meet SLA requirements.”
