Application Response-time Reporting in a Cisco WAAS Environment

Applications Performance Management
Application Response-time Reporting in a Cisco WAAS Environment

Overview

Cisco wide area application services and InfoVista performance management solutionsTo help companies optimize application response times across the wide area network (WAN), Cisco has embedded into its Wide Area Application Engine (WAE) devices a technology called Wide Area Application Services (WAAS) Flow Agents. This technology forwards application traces to the Cisco Network Analysis Module (NAM), making it possible for the user organization to understand the customer experience from all network locations without excessive deployment costs.

Complementing Cisco WAAS, InfoVista’s 5View™ Service Data Manager (SDM) Cisco NAM Configuration Option allows for the aggregation and correlation of data from multiple Cisco NAM devices into a single database and reporting application. This enables service providers and large enterprises to identify, capture and deliver customer experience measurements by leveraging the NAM-collected statistics.

In addition, the information that the NAM Configuration Option delivers can be optionally presented through InfoVista’s VistaInsight® for Networks portal, linking infrastructure and application data, and enabling truly unified application, service, and network infrastructure monitoring on a single platform.
