It should come as no surprise that communications service providers (CSPs), particularly mobile operators, face a tough challenge today. They must consistently raise the customer experience bar to differentiate in the competitive telecommunications market and, at the same time, minimize OPEX/CAPEX spending despite the growing demand for ubiquitous connectivity.

With LTE clearly out of the experimental phase in their region, North American mobile operators are finding that tackling the aforementioned objectives has become so much more complex. Infovista discussed a major step they must take–integrating and automating the network planning and design and network optimization process–at length at our recent User Conference.

We are now looking forward to continuing this conversation at LTE North America, taking place November 21-22 in Dallas, Texas. My colleague, Bernard Breton, will partake in a panel exploring the critical considerations for network optimization and how it will evolve in the future with the emergence and adoption of new technologies like LTE-Advanced, 5G and small cells.

Moderated by Arif Ansari, principal consultant at Wireless 20/20, the panel's participants, including executives from CommScope and ISCO, will also cover:

  • Sector-sculpting applications
  • Antenna coverage optimization and the move toward SON
  • The impact of cell overlap on data throughput

As you'll hear from Bernard, if mobile operators can deploy better designed networks right from the get-go and ground their future network planning and network optimization decisions there, they will be in a much better position to improve the end-user quality of experience and operate as cost-efficiently as possible.

Infovista invites LTE North America attendees to join us at this panel, which is part of the first day's Network Optimization track, at 2:10 p.m. local time. If you'd like a one-on-one meeting with Bernard, don't hesitate to contact Dina Rodrigues at [email protected].
