How do I register for an InfoVista class?
Enroll yourself through our web based
course schedule. In order to sign up for a class please make sure that your browser supports cookies.

What is required after the registration?
After you have registered for a class you will receive a preliminary, automated confirmation. In order to make your reservation become guaranteed, InfoVista needs to receive a formal purchase order stating the training you would like to take, the name of the student, an invoicing address and the total amount for which you purchased training.

How much does training cost?
Classroom training is invoiced based on so called "Standard Education Units”. One Standard Education Unit is required per day per student. So for a 5-days training for 2 participants you would have to purchase 10 Standard Education Units. Units are valid for any standard InfoVista classroom training. There are discounted volume packs for units available. If you need a quotation, please see your Account Manager or contact
training@infovista.com.

What is InfoVista’s cancelation policy?
InfoVista reserves the right to cancel training up to 10 working days before the class starts without any penalty/obligations if there aren't enough registrations. Cancelations of registered students received 10 days or more before the training starts will be free of penalty. Cancelations received between 10 and 5 days before the training venue will result in a 50% charge of the course price. Any cancelations received 5 days or less before the class will result in a 100% charge with no refund.

Are there any online training modules?
No. All InfoVista courses are instructor-led classroom trainings in order to ensure maximum efficiency. The trainings ensure an optimal balance between instructor lecture and practical exercise (lab work) and are conducted in a very interactive manner. We are convinced that this is the most effective and fastest way to train administrators or developers to use our extremely powerful and customizable products.

Can available courses be offered compressed or with a shortened agenda?
No. Classroom trainings are always conducted following the standard course materials (although the trainer will of course put more emphasis on topics that are of interest for the students in the current class). Onsite trainings can be tailored only by leaving out particular modules (as long as the flow is not harmed). Due to the nature of the courses, any left out module would harm the course flow and lower the efficiency. It is also important to understand that the Infovista training courses already represent a very intense and compressed approach to the powerful and complex InfoVista solutions.

What are the certifications (IVCA/IVCD) about?
IVCA (InfoVista Certified Administrator) is based mainly on the contents of the VistaFoundation CI Deployment and VistaFoundation CI Operation and Troubleshooting courses. It is a full-day, multiple choice, open book exam (140 questions) which can be taken at one of our training centers. IVCD (InfoVista Certified Developer) is a 2-day, mostly practical exam based on contents of the VistaFoundation CI Customization and VistaFoundation CI Solution Development courses. The candidates will have to develop a new class of reports ("from MIB variable to report") and take a 45-question multiple choice, open book exam.

  • Americas: +1 703 435 5150

What are the training hours?
Training hours are 09:00 - 17:30 (9:00 am – 5:30 pm US time) every day (including the first and last day!).

When should I attend an InfoVista training course?
Ideally you attend an InfoVista training BEFORE you start to implement one of our solutions. Especially if our professional services assists you in getting the solution up and running it is quite beneficial if you have already the necessary basic knowledge to understand what these gurus are doing or to ask them the right questions. USER training is typically done at the very end of an implementation. Although we can offer standard user trainings for our solutions, most of the time user training is conducted as "knowledge transfer" using the implemented system. This ensures the best learning experience.

Can InfoVista conduct training courses onsite at my location?
Yes. All standard classes can be delivered onsite if the customer can provide a training environment that matches our specifications. Please contact us for details at training@infovista.com.

I need help to get my VISA and travel documents for an InfoVista Training. Who can I contact?
Please contact
training@infovista.com immediately! Some visas take weeks to get due to the paper work needed (i.e. invitation letters, confirmations from government entities, etc.) so don't wait until the last moment!

How technical is InfoVista training?
User trainings are designed to explain the usage and content of an InfoVista solution and do not require a lot of technical skills although of course a background in networking and IT is useful. The Administrator and Developer-level trainings are hands-on practical trainings where the participants will install, operate and customize our solutions. For these classes we highly recommend a solid background in network technology (i.e. TCP/IP, SNMP, MIB’s, HTML, XML,WMI), using Microsoft Windows platforms (i.e. simple scripts, services, filemanager, etc.).

What language are InfoVista courses and course materials in?
All InfoVista trainings are conducted in English language using English course materials (books, slides). All our trainers can speak multiple languages (typically English, French and/or German) so in special cases, we can arrange to deliver training in one of these alternative languages (course materials always in English). If you are interested in conducting a training class in one of these alternate languages, please contact us at
training@infovista.com.

I am completely new to InfoVista. Which course(s) should I take?
Ideally, depending on budget and time permitting, you would start with one of our user courses (e.g. VistaInsight for Network User or VistaInsight for IP Telephony User). These classes teach the content (not the architecture and functioning) of an InfoVista solution. The next logical step would be the VistaFoundation CI Deployment course, then the VistaFoundation CI Operation and Troubleshooting course that teaches how to install, operate and personalize an InfoVista solution. It then depends on your role whether you should take the VistaFoundation Customization course and/or the VistaFoundation Solution Development course which teaches how you can add your own reports and new measurements to the InfoVista system (from MIB Variable to a new report). If you need any help or an individual training plan/proposal, please contact us at
training@infovista.com.

What InfoVista solution are the courses based on?
Our Administrator and Developer trainings are completely solution agnostic. All our solutions are based on exactly the same architecture, our VistaFoundation. Therefore we will use a solution which allows us to collect live data within the isolated classroom environment (VIS) rather than using a canned demo. The 4.0 versions of the Administration level training also uses VistaInsight for Networks (VIN) training. User trainings though are of course using the particular solution they are designed for (canned demo database taken from live scenario).
