In this course, students will be introduced to the InfoVista VIN solution and will learn which problem areas are addressed by VIN. Using practical examples (used cases) students will be introduced to the available reports and the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) used within these reports. They will learn how to interpret the various KPIs and use them to accomplish operating, capacity planning and SLM tasks. KPIs will be explained at an informal level. VistaFoundation CI 2.2 Administration
This course teaches new and experienced users how to install, configure and maintain a VF solution (using the VistaInsight for Servers solution, VIS, as a case study). Designed as a hands-on-intensive training, the course leads the student through all phases of installation of the products, configuration of the VIS solution and, ultimately, browsing the data reports provided by the Portal front-end. VistaFoundation CI 2.2 Solution Development
Students will create an InfoVista library that defines the KPIs, a VistaMart library that defines the reporting rules and finally, a set of Portal pages with custom report templates to display the data. At each stage of the course, hands-on lab work will reinforce the students’ knowledge. While the course concentrates on the development of a total solution, students will also be able to use this knowledge to customize existing VF deployments. VistaFoundation CI 4.0 Deployment
This course teaches new and experienced users how to deploy a VF-CI solution using the VistaInsight for Servers (VIS) solution and partly the VistaInsight for Network (VIN) solution as a case study. After a successful deployment, the student will be able to hand over a running platform to the operations team who will assure the day to day platform operations. Designed as hands-on intensive training, the course leads the student through all phases of installation of the products, performing sanity checks, configuration of the VIS solution and distribution of hot fixes. This course teaches new and experienced users how to operate and maintain a VF-CI solution using the VistaInsight for Servers (VIS) solution and partly the VistaInsight for Network (VIN) solution as a case study. InfoVista Certified Administrator (IVCA) 4.0
This certification results from successfully passing a five-hour multiple-choice test which examines the knowledge gained in the VistaFoundation CI 4.0 Deployment and VistaFoundation CI 4.0 Operation and Troubleshooting courses. The IVCA exam may be challenging for students with only a theoretical knowledge of the products. It is strongly recommended that IVCA candidates have real-world experience of using the products, as well as following the training courses mentioned above. This course teaches experienced users how to customize a standard VF-CI solution, using the VistaInsight for Servers (VIS) solution and partly the VistaInsight for Network (VIN) solution as a case study. After initial provisioning and data collection on a pre-installed VF-CI platform, students will first learn how to personalize the Portal front-end according to user profile. Next students will learn how to customize the solution by creating new reporting chains, provisioning rules to control overall load, and custom report and pages at the Portal.
